Conversations with "comedians"

They're not that funny...

Recently I was watching a comedy bit by a comedian named Christopher Titus. You might remember him from a show titled "Titus" which ran on Fox for three seasons from 2000 to 2002. The comedy was based on Christopher's real life, and was considered edgy for it's time.

In the comedy bit I was watching, Titus blamed the countries ills on a series of “white men” Presidents. He longed for a black President: “One so black the Secret Service has to tell a joke to find him”. Funny stuff right?

So I contact Titus from his “official” web site. Here is what I wrote:

On Sat, Aug 15, 2015 at 7:57 AM, I wrote:

“Watching an old bit of yours when GW was President. In the bit you called him "the revenge" and went down the list... "White Guy, White Guy, White Guy etc." to place comedic blame on white presidents for the state of the Union. And pined for a black president, intimating he'd fix all our problems.

Ha! Now that we have one I see you told the biggest joke of all: He'd fix the country! HAHAHA! Good one Chris! ”

Note that there is nothing racial in my comment to Titus other than the race card he plays in his very own comedy routine. There is nothing hateful in my e-mail either.

Yet Titus, an apparent heir to Nancy Pelosi’s title of Cool Aid Drinker finds that there is hate in my comments to him. He responded with:

“Gary,

What really pisses me off is blind hate. If someone does a good job whether I like them or not I give it up. Here's what Obama did.

Housing above where it was before the crash, GM alive, Bin Laden dead, Healthcare for millions of poor, Stock Market doubled, interest rates 3%, Us Oil production tripled, Gas prices down, Finally a deal with Iran, Obama has less the half the vacation days of Bush, no scandals with his wife with his kids or anyone else. Shall I continue? Because I can.  Whether you like Obama or not our country is in such a better place than it was in 2007/2008 and Obama is now the president. Face it. He's a good dude who did a fuck lot better job than the last guy and that is with congress slamming the door on a daily basis.

Thanks for the email.

TITUS”

There is no “blind hate” Christopher. I was commenting on competency in running the country. It’s a little like handing someone who has never been taught to drive the keys to a Ferrari and when he hands them back to our country in another year and a few months, we the People will get back a Ford Pinto.

But let’s examine his claims one by one on what kind of President Obama is:
1) “Housing above where it was before the crash”
According to a report S&P Case Shiller, home prices have DECLINED over 5% between January 1 2014 and January 1 2015.

Additionally, those who know anything about real estate (comedians are not included in this group) understand that the market has been and continues to be artificially propped up by low interest rates that are being manipulated by the Federal Reserve. Hardly a free market trend.

“However, at the end, he cautions that, should 30-year mortgage rates go up 1 percent in the next year and housing prices rise 5 percent in that time, then a monthly mortgage payment would climb by a whopping 18 percent.” according to CNBC who reported on the Case Shiller report. Source: http://www.cnbc.com/2015/04/01/dont-get-too-optimistic-about-the-housing-market-commentary.html

So while there has been some improvement in the housing market, it has NOT recovered to pre-2008 levels.

Secondly, the housing market crash was a crisis created by Democrats such as Barney Franks, Barbara Boxer, and Maxinne Waters. Bush’s administration went before Congress in 2003 warning about Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. They asked for a regulatory agency to oversee Freddie and Fannie. Source: Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMnSp4qEXNM

In 2005 Alan Greenspan warned that the “entire financial future” of these organizations were at risk after Freddie and Fannie admitted to accounting errors.

Sorry Titus, your assertion about the Housing market does not pass the smell test.

2) GM is alive and Bin Laden dead.

Really Christopher?

The sweet deal GM made with the government has cost the tax payers MILLIONS.

“In 2011, GM paid nothing in federal income taxes despite claiming record profits of $7.6 billion, the “highest profits in the 100 year history of that company” according to President Obama.

In fact, that’s not quite right. GM paid a tax rate of negative 1.5% on its record profits – less than nothing.

That’s right, while you were paying your income taxes last month, the IRS was sending General Motors a check for $110 million. And GM’s tax break is a gift that will keep on giving every year at tax time.

It’s good for twenty years. “ Source: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/05/18/what-gm-bailout-really-cost-american-taxpayers.html

In 2011 when GM contemplated selling stock, it’s shares were trading at $23 dollars a share down from the $39+ previous high immediately after the government bail out. According to several industry experts, the government would have to sell their shares at $53 a share in order to avoid a loss.

“Be apprised, though, the Treasury still maintains a 33 percent stake in GM even after selling some stock last year. Now comes the kicker: The US government would need to sell its remaining shares at $53 apiece just to break even, according to the Journal.” Source: http://www.torquenews.com/119/any-government-sale-gm-stock-right-now-saddles-taxpayers-loss

So while GM is still alive, taxpayers are on life support after the deal the Obama Administration cut with the company.

BIN LADEN dead? Perhaps he is. But it was through interrogation techniques that Obama called “barbaric” and “torture” that produced the intelligence that lead to Bin Laden’s whereabouts.

 3) Healthcare for millions of poor

And in the process made many middle class people a hell of a lot poorer through the higher premiums they pay and high deductibles or the high co-pay plans compared to what they paid pre-Obamacare.

Our own family premiums doubled the first year from $800 a month to over $1700 a month. We searched for and found a new carrier. Then after a year, they too doubled their rates. We searched for and found another carrier that year as well.

Now we hear we are to expect double digit premium hikes again.

“Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, for example, filed a request to increase rates on nine individual plans by an average of 54 percent. HealthPartners is seeking increases of nearly 25 percent on some plans.” Source: http://www.mprnews.org/story/2015/06/25/minnesota-health-care-ruling and source: http://www.forbes.com/sites/sallypipes/2015/06/29/obamacares-true-costs-are-finally-coming-to-light/

What Obamacare has done is to create a bureaucracy where even they do not understand the law that Pelosi said had to be “passed in order to find out what’s in it”.

The creation of state exchanges has been a joke costing tax payers even more money.

In 2009 there were an estimated 48.6 million uninsured (15.7%) in America according to the U.S. Census bureau. By Q2 of 2015 that rate had fallen to 9.2% according to the CDC, the lowest in 50 years. Source: http://obamacarefacts.com/sign-ups/obamacare-enrollment-numbers/ The administration had projected much higher enrollment numbers which have failed to materialize.

The cost to taxpayers for this monstrosity is projected to be $1.3 TRILLION dollars by 2025.

Obamacare was sold on the premise of being affordable and avoiding double digit increases every year. It has hardly lived up to the promise.

4) , Stock Market doubled, interest rates 3%, Us Oil production tripled, Gas prices down,

Most of this growth has been what the market calls “catch up growth”. Just getting back to where we started from is not considered to be spectacular. And can Obama really claim credit for the growth in the stock market?

There is little evidence that any of his bailouts or solar initiatives have had an impact. And the shovel ready jobs? He said this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O55aRrvXtio

“Shovel ready was not as shovel ready as we expected.”

5) “Finally a deal with Iran, “

Finally? Most analysts call this deal a bad deal for both America and our ally Isreal. We gave up too much for too little.

Here is a list of reason why it’s bad as found at: http://www.majorityleader.gov/2015/07/22/21-reasons-iran-deal-bad-deal/

  1. Though the deal was originally being negotiated to keep Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, in its final form the agreement would allow just that when it sunsets in 10-15 years.
  2. This deal will accelerate regional nuclear proliferation. Saudi leaders for instance have said that this deal is worse than the nuclear pact former President Bill Clinton made with North Korea.
  3. Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu said this deal will give Iran “hundreds of billions of dollars to fuel their terror and military regime.”
  4. Sanctions relief isn’t tied to Iran complying with the deal, meaning Iran gets massive amounts of relief before they’ve demonstrated strict adherence.
  5. And the money can’t be taken back once Iran gets it.
  6. That relief can be used to expand Iran’s malign and destabilizing influence in the region that has exacerbated sectarian conflict.
  7. The money can also be used to further fund Iran’s terrorist proxies like Hamas, Hezbollah, Assad, and Houthis in Yemen.
  8. In fact, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that Iran will not change its anti-American policy.
  9. To enforce the deal, world powers must first know if Iran violated the deal but that is an unclear process that can be delayed for weeks while Iran would be able to hide and obfuscate banned activities.
  10. Iran doesn’t have to come clean on its past nuclear activity, leaving world powers little ability to verify future illegal advances.
  11. Iran’s foreign minister interprets the deal very differently than the Obama Administration does.
  12. For example, he believes that the scale of foreign investments would effectively prevent the world from re-imposing sanctions on Iran, making the “snapback” provision of the deal effectively meaningless.
  13. He also said that Iran could deny inspectors access to nuclear and military sites under the deal.
  14. He also said that Iran would not be violating the deal if it broke the UN resolution prohibiting the purchase of conventional arms and missiles because the arms embargo is implicitly out of the scope of the nuclear agreement.
  15. Even if Iran adheres to the arms embargo, the embargo is lifted in 5 years, giving Iran access not only to conventional arms to further fuel terrorism and their drive for regional dominancy.
  16. In 8 years, the missile ban will be removed, allowing Iran to acquire missiles that could carry nuclear payloads.
  17. The Obama Administration pushed for the UN to vote on the deal in an attempt to jam Americans and their elected representatives before they’ve even had a chance to review the deal.
  18. Iran will be allowed to conduct advanced research and development that will pave the way for centrifuges that are modern and efficient. They will be able to enrich huge amounts of Uranium that will shorten their breakout time for a bomb.
  19. The deal also provides sanctions relief to Iranian military leader Qasem Soleimani, leader of the elite Quds force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, who is a designated terrorist who is responsible for the deaths of at least 500 U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
  20. On top of that, the deal lifts sanctions on two Iranian atomic scientists who worked on Iran’s illegal nuclear program and a nuclear proliferator who has previously helped smuggle nuclear components.
  21. The murderous Syrian President Bashar al-Assad called this deal a “great victory” and congratulated Iran on their achievement.

Sorry Titus, you fail to understand what is actually in the deal with the Devil.

6) Obama has less the half the vacation days of Bush,

You got me there. But many of Bush’s so called vacations were WORKING vacations taken at his ranch in Texas compared to vacations Obama has taken and those of his wife with the kids.

But compare the costs.
“ As of March 2014, Obama has spent more time traveling internationally than any other president, taking 31 trips since assuming office in 2009. The 119 days spent overseas have cost taxpayers millions of dollars.” …. “— we’re talking $44,351,777.12 worth of “a lot,” with most expenses charged to the American taxpayer.”

Obama is the most traveled and MOST expensive President America has ever had.

7) No scandals with his wife with his kids or anyone else. Shall I continue?

And that’s not mentioning the newest scandal surrounding Hillary Clinton’s computer.

In Conclusion:

Christopher, you suffer from what so many of your left wing, progressive socialist friends suffer from: A severe case of liberalism or as we call it here in the Midwest, brain malfunction.

You need to clear your head then firmly pull it out of the ass of liberalism and see that your assertions are laughable at best (after all you are a comic right?), and delusional at worst.

I do like your comedy. Your quick and sarcastic wit is entertaining to watch. And that is where you shine: On stage being funny. When you talk politics, you still are funny, but in a much darker and sophomoric sort of way.

Lastly, please note, nothing above was said in “blind hate” of our President, nor was anything in my first e-mail to you either, it is and was a commentary on your comedic nature and the President’s incompetence. You played the race card and you did not do so very well Titus.
