Ft. Hood was a terrorist attack stupid...
17 11 09 - 11:06 The evidence is almost overwhelming at this point... And it can not be ignored. The regular media is still referring to Hassan as a man who "snapped" that he suffered from Post Traumatic Stress as one reporter put it on the day of the attack. What an insult to those soldiers who DID actually fight in one of America's wars and suffer from PTSD. Hassan did NOT suffer from PTSD which is a terrible psychological condition reserved for those who HAVE served or gone through a traumatic, often violent event. It occurs AFTER (hence the "Post" in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) combat, not before deployment.The media is making this guy out to be a U.S. soldier (which he was) who simply snapped because of pressure (which he did not). He was and is a terrorist who committed a terrorist act on U.S. soil. He prepared for the shootings at Ft. Hood as the 9/11 hijackers prepared themselves for their horrendous deeds that day.
For example, the Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan had many contacts with al-Awlaki. al-Awlaki it turns out was a "spiritual advisor" to two of the 9/11 hijackers according to CNN. Although the contacts were explained as research, there should have been a red flag raised by guilt by association. But that would not be politically correct would it?
According to the NY Dailey News, Awlaki wrote on his blog "Nidal Hassan is a hero," and that "Nidal opened fire on soldiers who were on their way to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. How can there be any dispute about the virtue of what he has done?" al-Awlaki is the radical cleric who lectured or preached at the Virginia mosque where Hassan worshiped.
Hassan, an Army Psychologist appears to have been on the fast track for promotions according to published reports and the Army's own records . It takes nearly 10 years for an officer to reach the rank of major, Hassan did it in six. A sign of political correctness run amok? Did he get this fast track to Major simply because he was a Muslim? Records indicate that may have been the case.
Other missed signs were that Hassan gave away all or most of his personal belongings and his personal business cards that had 'Soldier for Allah' or SOA printed on the card. I think that now he ought to print SOL on his personal business cards now that he's captured and apparently paralyzed from the neck down.
He also defended suicide bombers. Saying that they were like the G.I. who dives on a grenade to save his buddies. What a crock. Terrorist acts like suicide bombings are a cowards battle. The suicide bomber knows he can't win a one-on-one battle with our soldiers and military, so he hides among children and women and then blows them up when it suits him. Nothing can be more cowardly. Whereas a GI who falls on a grenade saves innocent lives, the terrorist takes innocent lives.
CNN also reports that Robert Foster a Pvt. who was wounded in Hassans terroristic act, stated Hassan shouted: "Allahu Akbar" -- Arabic for "God is great" - a phrase that terrorists have used as a battle cry according to CNN.
The Washington Times and the Chicago Sun Times have both run editorials calling the Ft. Hood shootings a terrorist act.
What kind of leadership does President Obama provide on this matter? He's asked that we not jump to conclusions. He's steadfastly refuses to call the shootings a terrorist act. He'd rather point to "problems" that Hassan had rather than calling the shootings exactly what they are: A terrorist act.
Perhaps the worst insult to our military and us as a nation is that Hassan might be tried in a civilian court, rather than a military tribunal which is where terrorists need to be put on trail. It sure did not work out when Clinton and Reno put the first Trade Center bombers on trail in court. They turned it into a circus. Now we may have this happen again with Hassan. And it's a real possibility given that Attorney General Eric Holder has recently decided to put terrorist and 9/11 mastermind Kalid Shaikh Mohammed on trail in New York. In fact, the trail would be held right next to ground zero!
Can you believe that? The mastermind of 9/11 to be put on trial not more than a block away from ground zero. Holder explained it was to show the world what America was all about. What America is all about Mr. Holder is that we don't offer quarter to terrorists. We don't afford terrorists the rights of citizens in our legal system. We don't read terrorists their Miranda rights because the majority of Americans would likely tell you that terrorists have NO MIRANDA rights! But we're whistling in the wind when it comes to these bone-head decisions by Attorney General Eric Holder and others in the Obama Administration.
And here's one for you to ponder: What if KSM's (Kalid Shaikh Mohammed) case is dismissed or he is set free? Holder and the administration do not even want to consider the possibility. But if water boarding is against the law, the confessions we obtained might be thrown out of a civil court where the defendant now has civil rights, as opposed to the rights afforded to enemy combatants. Why Attorney General Eric Holder would even consider moving the trial of these terrorists to NY is beyond me and most Americans. Holder has shown zero compassion for the families whose loved ones were killed in the 9/11 attacks.
We have a confession, KSM admits he was the mastermind, so what are we waiting for? Give the asshole his last cigarette, load the rifle and put the terrorist out of his misery. Sounds pretty simple to me. We should do the same with Hassan.
Change is what we were promised during last year's election, and folks.... change is what we got. Is it working for you?
